MR. BARACK OBODI OJWANG
HOD MATHEMATICS

Departmental goals
To make the learner:
i) Develop positive attitude towards learning mathematics
ii) Think and reason precisely, logically and critically in any given situation
iii) Acquire knowledge and skills necessary for further education and training.
iv) Come out successful, competent in appraising and utilizing mathematical skills in playing a positive role in the development of a modern society

Respective services rendered
i) To the students: Proper teaching ensured being learner centered
Students are further organized into study discussion groups in order to facilitate learning process. Mathematics is also given extra time to increase teacher-student contact hours

ii) To parents: Apparently mathematics is the main worry of the parents. Organizing students and making conditions conducive for learning mathematics by extension is a service to parents. It is usually their wish that students perform well.

iii) To teachers: Their concern is school performance mean. A poor mathematics result means a poor school performance. The department concern and commitment is itself a service to teachers

iv) To the alumnae: It is the humble wish that the school shines all the time. When mathematics is well performed automatically the school will shine. Again by extension this is a service to the alumni and the community.

Mr. Odongo Christopher
HOS Mathematics

 Departmental needs
Still enormous, E-learning equipment, scientific calculators for students, revision books, and course book ratio to be improved currently 1:3 but it is expected to be 1:1, four figure mathematical tables. The department calls for donation

As a matter of advice
Students should have proper academic discipline and work hard in mathematics. Mathematics is a requirement in many career opportunities. They should appreciate the role, value and use of mathematics in the society.

Parents should make sure they provide all that the students need when in school for smooth learning understand the students and play their role effectively

Teachers from other departments should be supportive and encourage the students to put more effort in mathematics

Alumnae should keep in touch with the school, offer motivation talks, donations, etc
